Afin d’éclairer les discussions à venir, cet article revient sur des caractéristiques méconnues ou oubliées de ce rapport telles que son origine (les commanditaires et les auteurs), sa vocation, la méthode employée pour construire le modèle mathématique et les réactions qui ont suivi sa publication. Il évoque aussi la traduction française du titre original du rapport. Abstract: The Limits to Growth report has been the subject of considerable media attention, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of its publication. In order to inform future discussions, this article looks back at some of the lesser-known or forgotten features of this report, such as its origin (the sponsors and authors), its purpose, the methodology used to build the mathematical model and the reactions that followed its publication.
