Il est également devenu un objet culturel, mis en mots et en images par des cinéastes, photographes, écrivains ou historiens qui ont interrogé les potentialités de cette maison nomade, avatar contemporain de la roulotte qui, en son temps, alimenta les imaginaires. L’étape, essentielle dans un voyage de ce type, fondé sur la pratique paradoxale d’une villégiature mobile, est un moment privilégié. Elle dit figurément le voyageur, les rapports sociaux qu’il noue avec autrui ou encore les manières d’habiter l’espace propres à chacun. Abstract: The motor home is now part of our universe. It has also become a cultural object, put into words and images by filmmakers, photographers, writers and historians who have questioned the potential of this nomadic house, a contemporary avatar of the caravan which, in its time, fed the imagination. The stopover, essential in a journey of this type, based on the paradoxical practice of a mobile holiday, is a privileged moment.
