Après avoir relevé la dimension pragmatique qui a entouré la production de ces récits imaginaires, je me penche sur la formulation dialectique et la construction narrative sérielle proposées par Grégoire le Grand au Livre IV de son Dialogus 1et qui ont servi à la mise en place d’une sociopoétique infernale. Les auteurs, lors d’adaptations, ont pu ainsi mettre en parallèle de l’inaccessible enfer divin, un enfer matériel, théâtralisé et graphique, une vérité interprétée, et ont composé une littérature d’une incroyable créativité dont les descriptions troublantes se sont ancrées dans l’inconscient collectif. Abstract: This paper analyzes the incipit of a medieval discursif genre that I have identified and refer to as the edifying testimonies of medieval Christian voyages to Hell. It is comprised of a collection of monachal texts adapted between the sixth and the thirteenth centuries, whose main unifying characteristic resides in their relation of soul travelers’ journeys to the hereafter. I begin by presenting the pragmatic dimension of the genre’s inception, as well as the lack of norms, which fostered it. I then examine the dialectic formulation and the serial narrative construction of an infernal sociopoétic. The authors set, in parallel with the divine and inaccessible hell, a physical theatrical hell, an interpretation of a truth, and revealed an amazingly creative literature which disturbing accounts became ingrained in the collective psyche. mer., 27 nov. 2019 12:55:54 +0100 lun., 12 juin 2023 09:58:39 +0200 http://revues-msh.uca.fr/sociopoetiques/index.php?id=1032 http://revues-msh.uca.fr/sociopoetiques/index.php?id=863 Résumé : Dans un corpus composé de romans récents (Eux et Les Pêchers de Claire Castillon, Du Domaine des Murmures et La Terre qui penche de Carole Martinez et Ladivine de Marie NDiaye), j’examine comment l’imaginaire propre à ces œuvres soulève, à travers la sensibilité de personnages féminins, des questions qui concernent non seulement la construction affective des protagonistes mais aussi l’identification sociale, les relations de l’humain et la hiérarchie des pouvoirs. Les stratégies narratives sont sondées sous l’angle de théories féministes et posthumanistes. L’analyse montre comment l’irrationnel est construit comme la transformation d’une expérience sociale traumatique des protagonistes. Abstract: This article examines representations and issues of the "irrational" in recent novels by contemporary women writers in French (Claire Castillon, Carole Martinez and Marie NDiaye). It examines how the irrational imaginary specific to these works, which is built up through the sensitivity of female characters, raises issues that concern not only the affective construction of the protagonists but also the social identification, the relations of human beings and the hierarchy of powers. Specific implications of the irrational regarding gendered hierarchy and affecting women in particular are discussed.
